DLA - Dual Language Academy
DLA Highlights
- First High School to offer the bilingual program in our district.
- We have the only bilingual newspaper in the county. Our newspaper has been well received by our community and we are called to cover community events.
- Our DLA club has started community traditions, such as our DLA Posadas. We are now beginning the AHS Haunted Tours, and expected to grow like our Posadas.
- Our DLA program includes the Embajadores Bilingues program. This is a joint effort between the elementary schools and our high school to celebrate bilingualism and help students see the many opportunities that arise from being bilingual.
- As the flyer indicates we offer Biology, Math 4, Math 5, 3D Design and Journalism on top of the language courses, but we are still hoping to expand.
- Our DLA department chair is currently writing a course titled "The History of Latin American Music", which we hope to include as a course in the near future.
